


Meet Robert S. Cummings
Board Certified Specialist in Family Law
Robert Cummings is a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law and an AV Preeminent Peer Rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell—recognition of both his legal skill and the trust he’s earned among clients and colleagues. A graduate from Campbell University School of Law and a graduate with a B.A. in History and Political Science from UNC-Chapel Hill, Robert has spent his entire legal career serving individuals and families in Chatham and Orange Counties and the surrounding region.
Robert is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the Chatham County Bar Association, the 18th Judicial District Bar, and the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. He currently serves on the board for the Center for Cooperative Parenting and has previously served on the council for the NCBA’s Solo, Small Firm, & General Practice Section as well as service on the NCBA’s Family Law Section’s Domestic Violence Committee.
Robert focuses his practice on family law. Known for his calm, clear approach, he works closely with each client to understand their situation and provide honest, practical guidance through what are often emotional and complex challenges.
Outside the office, Robert is a devoted dad, lifelong Baltimore Orioles fan (even through the dry years), and an all-around nerd who enjoys comic books and role-playing games.
